How to use the UCAT Score Calculator
Use the table above to see how a UCAT ANZ score compares with other candidates. Find your total cognitive score (Verbal Reasoning + Decision Making + Quantitative Reasoning) and read across to the matching percentile. Your percentile shows the percentage of candidates you scored higher than, which is how most universities compare applicants.
This UCAT score calculator (sometimes called a UCAT grade calculator) is free to use and is updated with the latest UCAT ANZ data.
How UCAT ANZ scoring works
The UCAT ANZ has four subtests. Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making and Quantitative Reasoning are each scored from 300 to 900, giving a total cognitive score between 900 and 2700. Situational Judgement is scored separately and is not included in the total. Since Abstract Reasoning was removed in 2025, scores from earlier years (out of 3600) cannot be compared directly with current scores.
What is a good UCAT score?
A score around the 50th percentile is average. Many universities consider scores around the 75th to 90th percentile strong, and scores above the 90th percentile are highly competitive for medicine interview offers. Each university uses the UCAT differently, so always check how your preferred universities select applicants. For a full explanation, read our guide: What Is a Good UCAT Score?
Frequently asked questions
Is the UCAT pass or fail?
No. There is no pass mark. Your score is compared with other candidates who sat the test in the same year.
Is Situational Judgement included in my total score?
No. Situational Judgement is reported separately from your total cognitive score.
Can I improve my UCAT score?
Yes. Structured preparation, timed practice and reviewing every mistake can make a real difference, especially in your weakest subtest.
